Panic grips among border people after BSF issues 'alert' | | | Arun Trisal

Kathua, Aug.19: The panic has gripped in border villages situated at International Border (IB) including Bobiya village which is situated very close to Zero line after as BSF issued alert along the forward villages in the wake of continued firing and shelling along Poonch for the last few days followed by firing in R S Pura sector in recent past days. As per local sources, the BSF have taken security measures due to continuing Ceasefire violation in adjoining forward posts. Following the BSF's movement and its alert panic has gripped among villagers who again preferred to move to safer places. Thirth Singh, a senior citizen, expressed resentment against Pakistan and said that people left their houses and shifted to safe place and BSF passed on message for alert. Singh said people used to shift in previous incidents of ceasefire violation. Singh said regular migration demoralize their scruples and nature of security at village. He informed that farmers could not cultivate their field properly as regular alert and tensed situation affect their livelihood. Subash Singh, another villager, said DDC Kathua reviewed previous losses and ensured to compensate but nobody came here to conduct survey thereafter. However he alleged on BJP to make people fool over the 'catchy announcement' regarding 5 Marlas plot to each affected family in safer places but nothing has been done till date. He said people are fed up ceasefire violation and demanded strict action against Pakistan to respite from cross border firings. |
