Traders seek permit for GLOBAL TRADE via LoC | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 19 : Traders of J&K requested the Centre to permit international trade through the Line of Control.According to sources, a delegation of traders gave a representation to the Union Commerce Ministry and Home Ministry last week to promote trade across the LoC. In the representation they suggested the preparation of a list of negative items like arms, ammunition and narcotics. The traders proposed that barring these items, they should be allowed to trade unlimited products.The traders requested to make these items free from custom duty. They asked the government to charge custom duty only when the items cross J&K border at Lakhanpur. They also proposed the formation of a joint action group comprising chambers, industries and traders of both the sides and holding of meetings of this group every three months. |
