Kathua, Aug 29: With the number of registered unemployed youth crossing to over six lakh, ironically Jammu and Kashmir which has the highest unemployment rate in sharp contrast have retired officials from revenue department to rush the show.
Field Officers/ Patwaris of Revenue department who can initiate to open new avenues to unemployed educated youth in revenue department instead have illegally deployed dozens of retired Patwaris, Girdawar and Naib Tehsildar as their substitutes on consolidated salary from their own pocket who continually harassed the public and make huge money. These veterans running the second inning in revenue department have special instructions from their employers to harass public of their girduar halqa and promote corruption openly. People visit their offices where these second line of so called officials make several excuses and openly demand enticement. Locals alleged despite knowing the fact that about the happenings in office, the Tehsildar allegedly never tried to take corrective measures against illegal employment and corruption racket but turned back towards this menace.
When contacted such retired persons working in revenue department however didn't come forward openly but evaded direct reply. However they also ignored to talk on the menace even people presented in their offices raised voices instantly while people have demanded strict action against illegal employers.
A victimized family of Kabir Nagar which has been approaching the concerned department to seek marking on their ancestral land for few years but nothing has been done as Field officers of revenue department demand equal share after evacuation.
Te aggrieved lady alleged on field staff of revenue department and retired employees for creating impediments in this the matter and harasses the family. She also alleged that officials have harassed the family and sought marking of land with immediate effect.
The question here is that who is responsible for this menace in Tehsil office Kathua while people alleged being harassed and compelled to offer bribe while administration seemingly is putting the issue on back burner. Aggrieved locals have sought strict probe against this racket and Patwaris who deploy such people for enjoying luxury life. |
