Railway colony residents forced to live in 'scary living conditions' | | | Ashwani Sharma

Udhampur, Sept 2: While the Railway employees are serving to the people of nation devotedly to its sharp contrast their families of are facing lots of problems for the last few weeks as the condition of Railway quarters is too 'bad and scary.' The conditions of quarters could be judged from the case that some women stated protest against one Subhash Chowdhary (HD) at Udhampur Led by Surinder Singh Khalsa the ladies staged protest demanding renovation of the quarters allotted to them. The protestors also alleged that the accommodation is in shambles and is unsafe for living. Families accommodated in the quarters alleged about the bad conditions of the quarters allotted them and said that water supply always get irregular while and wooden frames used in quarters are just hanging on only. They also alleged that they came to know that an amount of Rs 43.00 lakh has been released by the department for the renovation of the damaged buildings but the concerned contractors yet have not used a single penny to renovate the damaged quarters. Meanwhile some women from Railway quarters also alleged that some miscreant posing railway officials visit quarters in the late hours which is uncomfortable. Meanwhile when asked about the whole episode, the Subhash Chowdary said that the inspection on work done in the quarters is going on and denied any harassment to anyone. Mr Chowdahry also said there is nothing wrong in the case but accused that one Ram Kumar Sharma trade unionist have tempted the some residents against the authorities. He also accused Ram Kumar Sharma of befooling gullible resident of Railway quarters and under planed a move got signature of innocent families. He however said the money sanctioned has been utilized on the renovation of the quarters, and added some of the buildings will be covered for renovation after the next installment of funds be released. Meanwhile Ram Kumar Sharma trade unionist rejected allegations of Mr Chowdhary and said no work has been undertaken. He however added that he was not in the city right now and shall address a press conference in this regard to bring truth to come out. |
