Shortlisted ARs feel dejected | JU issues fresh notification; process of selection, which started in 2012, halted | | Early Times Report jammu, Sept 2: Leaving the shortlisted candidates for the post of Assistant Registrar (AR) dejected due to alleged technical errors, the appointment process, which began in 2012, stands halted as University of Jammu has issued fresh notification seeking applications to fill the posts. Sources said while 12 candidates were shortlisted for five posts of AR, new notification had been issued by the university. "The process was begun in 2012 to fill three posts of Assistant Registrar but the number of posts increased with the passage of time", sources said and added, "Presently three posts for main campus and one each for Bhaderwah and Kathua Campuses have been advertised." They said that the former Vice Chancellor of Jammu University Prof MPS Ishar to adjust the son of a faculty member had given his nod, but now the process was halted. "Convinced with former Dean Academic Affairs, Prof Ishar had given his nod to begin appointment process, but present incumbent has put the matter on hold and sought new applications", sources said, adding there must be 1:6 ratio for the post, but in recently withheld process ratio was less than 1:5. It was technical ground for withholding the earlier process, sources said, adding that the process has been twice deferred due to the same reasons. "Since the matter could have been challenged had the process been completed, the vice-chancellor constituted a committee to review the process and finally after the committee's recommendation, the posts were re-advertised", they added. |
