Vexed over low voltage, people urged PDD authorities to intervene | | | Early Times Report
Sunderbani, Sept 2: Residents of Sunderbani, have urged higher ups in Power Development Department (PDD) to intervene to resolve their power woes including prolonged power cuts and low voltage supply to the locality. The locals alleged that they have repeatedly complained to, and even protested against the Power Development Department (PDD) and also took up matter about experiencing very low voltages and extended power outages in the area but all in vain. They added after prolonged power curtailments whenever power is restored, the voltage is so low that they cannot even charge the batteries of their mobile phones or use their other electronic gadgets due to high power fluctuations. "The irony of the matter is that PDD is issuing us very bills every month even when we are not being provided electricity," said Ajit Kumar a resident of Sunderbani of Rajouri district. Another local Vijainder Singh said, "For the past two years people have been resorting to batteries to meet their power needs, while the affluent use power generators to get due power supply especially in the monsoon and summers when the threat of dangerous reptiles is higher." People of Sunderbani who are not only facing the frequent power outages but also bearing the brunt of low voltage also have urged the Minister for Power to intervene regular power supply in the town. |
