Social activists submit memorandum to CEO-MCU 9/2/2015 11:15:58 PM Early Times Report Udhampur, Sept 2: A delegation of social workers today called on Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Municipal Council Udhampur (MCU) K.K Chalotra and submitted a memorandum of demands highlighting various issues like garbage disposal, lack of civic awareness among people of Udhampur. During the interaction, the members of delegation pointed out that no action has been taken for imposing ban on polythene in Udhampur and also suggested various measures to save ecology while keeping the city clean. They also demanded strict action against those found selling/ using polythene. They urged Municipal Committee to organize awareness camps in different parts of city to make people aware about the bad effects of polythene, besides authorities to start garbage collection drive. Deputation also sought displaying of duty roaster of sweepers with their mobile numbers on the entrance of every ward for the maintenance of cleanliness.
