CJM grants 7-day police remand of Masrat Alam

Jammu, Sept 2: Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jammu, Suneet Gupta today granted seven days police remand of Masrat Alam Bhat in FIR NO 03/2012 registered against him under sections 467, 468, 420, 471, 120-B and 121 of RPC and 3 EAO of JIC.
The CD file reveals that Masrat was taken into custody by the police station JIC Jammu and further reveals that he was initially taken into custody under section 54 of CrPC on the basis of suspicion of his involved in present case and the IO has sought some time to collect some incriminating evidence against him and for that purposes the interrogation of the accused is required.
Keeping in view the prayer made by the IO, CJM granted time to get some incriminating evidence against the accused who is prima-facie found to be involved in the present case and granted his seven days police remand and directed the IO to produce the accused after expiry of remand period and also directed him to intimate about the arrest of the accused to his close relatives and that he shall be medically examined after every 48 hours.
