Jammu, Sept 5: The Service Selection Board (SSB) has invited online applications for various posts but its website on which the applications are to be filled up is 'dead' most of the time. The SSB has advertised 3735 posts for different state, division and district cadre posts for various departments. Rajesh Bhagat, an aspirant, said that he resides in a remote area of Samba district and the village has no access to internet. Today, he said, he visited the district headquarter Samba to fill the online application form. "The official website of SSB did not open and after five minutes it showed 'error encountered, please try again,", Rajesh said, adding that he tried again after ten minutes but the problem persisted. Rajesh said he spent nearly four hours while trying to fill the online application form, but to no avail. Rajesh said it was the responsibility of the SSB to keep the website active. "They should know that a vast population of Jammu and Kashmir lives in remote areas, where there is no internet," he said. "The SSB should have uploaded syllabus for exams at this time. But due to the lackadaisical approach of SSB, the syllabus was updated after months of advertisement," said another applicant Surdarsan Singh. He said he faced same problem while filling online application form for naib tehsildar post. Singh said he was shocked when he saw few district cadre posts were categorized by the SSB under Actual line of Control, but the district boundary didn't connect with the international border. SSB chairperson Dev Lata did not return repeated calls from Early Times for her comment. |
