Chib castigates state, centre for soft approach towards Pak, separatists | | | Early Times Report
Suchetgarh, Sept 5: RS Chib senior Congress leader and former minister described it most unfortunate, the increase in the militants' activities and frequent ceasefire violations by Pakistan in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Chib was addressing public meeting at Suchetgarh border which was organized in connection with the Seventeenth death anniversary of Shaheed Ramesh Lal. Chib said that the increase in militancy related incidents is due to the soft policy of both Centre and State government towards the separatists and pro Pak forces in the state. He made a special reference to Geelani's letter to Prime Minister of Pakistan in which he has appreciated the Kashmir policy being followed by the govt. of Pakistan and also the scuttling of NSA level talks by Pakistan govt., which was to be held between India and Pakistan on 23rd of last month. Chib further added that this is ample proof of their functioning in coordination with the Govt. of Pakistan. He urged upon the Govt. of India and state govt. to adopt a tough approach while dealing with such anti national forces. Chib also criticized the successive govt. in the past for not paying attention to the residents of Border area both on IB as well as LoC and also the pending demands of the refugees of 1947, 1965 and 1971. He further added that it is unfortunate that the long pending issue of one rank one pension (OROP) raised by the ex servicemen is still hanging in the air. |
