Jammu, Sept 5: Police today claimed to have busted an interstate narcotics smuggler's gang with the arrest of five persons along with the contraband of bhukki weighing upto 53 kgs during a naka checking on Jammu-Srinagar national highway under jurisdiction of Jajjhar Kotli Police station. "The accused have been identified namely as Biant Singh of Rajasthan, Bhuta Singh, Amarjeet Singh and Dilwara Singh all residents of Ludhiana and Parshotam Lal of Domana (Driver), spokesperson said "Based on tip off, police team led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli, Inspector Ravinder Singh under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma and In-charge SSP Rajiv Pandey raised a naka at Suketar (Domail) and intercepted a Xylo car bearing regd no JK14B-5696," police said. Police said, "During search, team recovered 53kg Bhukki (poppy straw) from the possession of occupants of vehicle, police said adding that they were arrested on the spot." Police said that all accused have been booked against a case under FIR No 101/15 u/s 8/15 NDPS has been has been registered in Jhajjar Kotli police station. |
