udhampur, Sept 5: On the occasion of religious occasion of Shri Krishana Janamashtami, volunteers of NGO Jiyo Aur Jeene Do organised a cleanliness and plantation drive at the park near Venus Chowk as a part of "Green India , Clean India."
According to spokesperson, members gathered in the park near Venus Chowk, Sailan Talab and collecting littered garbage in park and then planted saplings to give a message of making environment green and clean.
Speaking on the occasion, the president of NGO, Tariq Shah said, "We also appeal to the CEO Municipal Udhampur to maintain all such neglected parks of the town."
"The successive governments have spent huge amount on all such parks but due to lack of maintenance, these parks are not being utilized properly, he said, adding, "we also request DDC Udhampur to pay attention towards the maintenance of all such parks of the town so that anybody who visits our city enjoys the greenery of the town.
Co ordinator of NGO Aftab, Student wing representatives Baldev Singh, Sanjay, Vijay, Sahil, Tarun, Ram Kumar, Krishna and Ajay Singh also participated in the programme. |
