RJA condemns alleged manhandling of scribe, woman leader | | | Early Times Report Ramban, Sept 5: Ramban Journalists' Association (RJA) has condemned the manhandling of one of their senior colleagues and a senior Congress women leader by some agitating villagers at village Maggerkot Dallian in Ramsu on Thursday evening. In a meeting of the RJA presided over by its President, Mohammad Taskeen Wani the incident was unanimously condemned severely and urged the district police to take necessary action against the culprits besides ensuring their safety. It is alleged that the former President, RJA, District Correspondent, Prasar Bharti(AIR,DD) and the Tribune, RK Kichlu and a social worker, Ramban District President Indian National Congress(Women), Narinder Kour had a narrow escape when the family members of Braham Singh, his sons and other accomplices allegedly manhandled and abused them. The duo reportedly have gone to house of accused for the reconciliation between his family members and his daughter-in-law, Shalu (name changed) on his 'invitation' on Thursday evening . Pertinently Braham's son, Kuldeep Singh, a constable(B.No.877),IRP,7Bn allegedly was booked in a case FIR NO.42/2011,Dtd.8/6/2011 u/s 4/5,376 RPC at Police Station, Batote but reportedly was let off following their 'Marriage Agreement' with his wife Shallu at the Munsif Court,Banihal on 22/6/2011 as per Kuldip's assurance to the JM1C court, Batote and since then he refused to agree to marry her as per the Hindu rites. The girl recently had approached the JM1C,Batote to reopen the said case against Kuldeep and had also gone to Kuldeep's residence to seek an amicable settlement and "removing the misunderstandings". The matter was also brought into to the notice of SHO, Ramsu and SDPO, Banihal at police Station,Ramsu, who also advised the two parties to settle the matter in the local Panchayat in a meeting scheduled on September 16. Meantime on Thursday when the scribe Kichlu was videographing the incident, the accused and his family members got infuriated and assaulted the scribe and the local leader also. |
