New academic session kick starts at MIER | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sep 6: New sessions of two years duration (2015-2017) were started for the fresh batch of M.Ed. and B.Ed students at MIER College of Education here today. According to press release, the inaugural session was attended by Dr. Renu Gupta Principal, Dr. Adit Gupta Vice-Principal, Dr. B.L.Raina HoD PG Dept., Dr. Annie Kaul HoD B.Ed and all the faculty members of the college. 100 students in the B.Ed. and 35 students in the M.Ed. programmes have joined the college. Dr Renu Gupta, Principal MIER College formally welcomed the staff and students to MIER family.She saidthat the college has been conferred with autonomous status by the UGC and University of Jammu and this new achievement will help the college to grow and develop with greater academic freedom. Dr. Gupta informed the students that College has recently conducted the first annual examination under the autonomous system for its outgoing students and the result would be declared in a month or so, which would benefit the students for job placement. Dr. Adit Gupta, Joint Director and Vice Principal also blessed the students and exhorted them to take the two years course seriously as it will help them to become effective teachers of the 21st century. Dr. Annie Koul, HOD B.Ed General, informed the students about the activities, responsibilities and expectations of the department and also provided an overview of the entire B.Ed program. She wished them all the best in their learning endeavour. |
