Jammu, Sept 6: Considered a paratrooper in the BJP, Jitendra Singh, MoS in PMO is stoking controversies within his own party, which has given him a place in the Union Council of Ministers. Jitendra Singh, who was once eyeing the post of the Chief Minister, but got more frustrated after even the post of the Deputy Chief Minister was denied to him and given to the party loyalist Nirmal Singh, is doing everything to make things difficult for the state BJP. Jitendra Singh after first setting the Jammu on fire on the issue of the AIIMS, which ironically helped the Congress, has now started talking about the Dogra certificate. MoS in PMO who knows the art of diplomacy, decided to hit out at the Congress on the issue of the Dogra certificate. Dogra certificate, though could have helped the people of Jammu region, but the fact that Centre has adopted other means to give preference to the people of the Jammu, is a contentious issue as far as the alliance of the BJP-PDP is concerned. In the outgoing Omar Abdullah Government, there was very strong reaction from the separatists when this issue was raised. The PDP, which has a base in the valley, and has a political constituency which is also soft towards separatism, will react this time also if the issue is further stone walled. Jitendra, who believes himself to be a journalist, has deliberately picked up the issue that is bound to create trouble for the BJP, as the party has won almost all the seats from the Jammu region. "Jitendra is not being assigned anywork in the PMO, which is controlled by the PM Modi himself and his Cabinet Secretary. Even senior Cabinet Ministers like Rajnath Singh doesn't have any say so what can be the weight of Jitendra Singh there. So he is eyeing for the seat in the State and that's the reason he is creating trouble for the party with an aim that he can impress upon the Central leadership that only he can handle the things in the State and replacement is needed. But, the central leadership is aware of the game plan of the Jitendra Singh," said a senior BJP leader. |
