| FD fails to check illegal issuance of Form 25 | | |  Arun Trisal

Kathua, Sept 6: Lakhanpur check post notwithstanding, the forest department has not stopped issuing Form No 25.
It was publicized few days ago when a vehicle & 22 extra bags of Nagchatris were seized by Excise department with Form No. 25 issued by Range Officer and other officials deployed at Forest Check Post Lakhanpur.
The issue was also came into the notice of DFO Kathua and Concerned Minister who pats his back for eradication of corruption from forest department but action has yet to be taken against tainted officers.
NGOs pointed out the unloading of a vehicle with imported timbers 15 km inside the JK state that crossed Forest Check post by officials allowed the vehicle illegally. They alleged on Forest department for improper scrutiny and issuing the permission of export/import of Forest produces with mutual understanding with contractors.
Ram Lal, a local said trucks are being allowed during nights without checking where officials issue permission certificates from premises of Check post even without look at the vehicles. He said locals raised their voice against Mal-functioning of the department and openly reinforcing corruption but nothing has been done as divisional level officer himself involved and back the menace.
He said people have decided to stage massive protest demonstration against the Mal-functioning of Forest department who has duty to save Forests rather than harm the ecosystem. |
