JAMMU, Sept 6: Apparently endorsing view point of the people of Jammu region, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh today publically admitted that BJP ministers in the PDP-BJP Government in Jammu and Kashmir are committing sins by ignoring wishes and aspirations of those who had voted them with emotions just for the lust of power.
Dr Singh, who holds the portfolios Minister of State in Prime Minister's Office, Minister of State for Development of North Eastern Region (Independent Charge), Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Atomic Energy and Department of State, candidly admitted that delay in implementation of various schemes in Jammu region due to the approach of the coalition Government in Jammu and Kashmir in which BJP is also partner.
When his attention was drawn towards failure of the State unit of BJP to handle the issue of AIIMS and now new controversy on imposing tax on pilgrims of Mata Vaishno Devi, the Union Minister sought to maintain a distance from utter failure of his party colleagues in Jammu and Kashmir. "I will not remorse the sins committed by others", he replied in an obvious references towards misdeeds of BJP ministers in Jammu and Kashmir who have bartered peoples' wishes and aspirations for the lust of power.
Although Dr Jitendra Singh avoided mentioning name of any ministers yet he was very critical of the State Government in which his own party is an equal partner. His address in the Press Club of Jammu revolved around failure of the State Government to address the issues pertaining to Jammu region. To authenticate his allegations, he sought to draw attention of the media persons towards delay tactics being adopted to enhance salaries of SPOs and VDC members despite Union Government had given its approval in the month of August 2014. He also highlighted plights of the border people to take on coalition regime on J&K and mentioned towards step taken by the Union Government to identify land to provide safe shelters to the border residents.
Shockingly BJP leaders in J&K are not aware of the prevailing ground situation in J&K but the Union Minister has gauged mood of the people in Jammu. It was all due to his observation that people are against BJP ministers in the State Government that he distanced himself from the sins of party colleagues in J&K.
Indirectly he gave a warning to the State Government against ignoring Jammu region in the disbursement of funds from the whooping financial package likely to be announced by the Centre very soon. "The Centre has announced and sanctioned funds for the State of Jammu and Kashmir from time to time for various purposes and the money should be utilised on priority,", he said and added that very soon a huge package is going to be announced for the state, shall also be distributed to cross border firing victims besides flood affected.
