Police foils NSUI, Youth Congress attempt to gherao MoS in PMO | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 6: Police today foiled attempt of National Student Union of India (NSUI) and Youth Congress activists to gherao MoS in PMO Jitendra Singh here. The NSUI workers led by Jammu and Kashmir Youth Congress president Pranav Shagotra this afternoon made an attempt to gherao Dr Singh outside Press Club of Jammu where he had come as a guest to attend Meet The Press programme. Shouting anti-BJP slogans, the Youth Congress activists waving party flags, criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi over inflation and remaining mum over various issues including the border habitats. "We have assembled here to gherao Dr Jitendra Singh but heavy deployment of police, restricted us,'' Pranav Shagotra, President State Youth Congress told reporters. He said the Prime Minister has failed in fulfilling the promises he had made to the people of the country particularly of Jammu and Kashmir. "The BJP Government led by Mr Modi is befooling the people by making false promises,'' he said and added that the Youth Congress will not even spare the Prime Minister from gheraoing , if he visits Jammu. The protestors said inflation is touching sky, the rates of onion and other items are not affordable by aam admi, but the government is not taking any measure to check the price rise. The activists, amid slogans, also burnt the effigy of the Prime Minister. |
