| Info under RTI exposes scam in MGNREGA works | | | Danish Muzafar

Banihal, Sept 6: A RTI filled by a villager in Mangit village of Block Banihal in district Ramban has brought to fore irregularities in works done by Rural Development Department under MG NREGA.
According to information furnished in response to RTI difference between paper work and the work done by the department on the ground became evident.
The Assistant Commissioner Development Ramban took serious notice and constituted an inquiry to know the ground realties.
Ab Satar a villager of Mangit Banihal received information in response to a RTI filled by him and found huge difference between the work done by RDD department in the area and the amount drawn by the employees of the concerned department posted in the area on the name of different workers which are not shown on ground.
The Mangit area of the Banihal is 38 kilometers away from the Banihal town. This hilly area remains cut from the other parts of the country for four months during the winters seasons due to the non availability of road connectivity.
The inquiry team are in the area to asses the ground realities alleged by the locals after receiving the RTI report and they are scheduled to submit their report within three days to the ACD Ramban.
