Early Times Report

Srinagar, Sept 6: Authorities on Sunday decided not to allow Kashmir Economic Alliance and other traders' bodies proposed protest against government's failure to rehabilitate the flood victims at Lal Chowk on Monday.
A senior police officer told that administration has denied permission to KEA for protest at Lal Chowk. The official said that the traders were offered SK Park as the venue which they declined.
"They won't be allowed to protest at Lal Chowk as there is apprehension of law and order problem as they have given invitation to separatists," the official said.
Meanwhile, police sources said that the separatists will also be detained or placed under house arrest. The official further said that there will be curfew-like restrictions in city centre Lal-Chowk tomorrow, September 7. The Traders have termed the revival day which is being observed by the state government on September 7 to commemorate the first anniversary of last year's floods, as "Jashn-e-Barbadi", the "carnival of destruction." The traders have called for shutdown tomorrow and have called for protest at Ganta Ghar (clock tower) on Monday. Actually they have called the protest as "felicitation program" at the Ghanta Ghar. The traders have said that there was no difference between the PDP and BJP and the "puppet government" has made any effort in the past one year to rehabilitate flood victims.
