Govt perceptive towards problems of West Pak refugees: Ganga

SAMBA, Sept 6:Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga today said that the central and state government are well aware of the problems faced by the West Pakistan refugees settled in J&K and Government of India has come up with requisite orders to facilitate the recruitment of their wards in armed forces.
The Minister informed this while addressing a gathering of West Pakistan refugees at Vijaypur in Samba today.
Member Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma was also present on the occasion.
Chander Parkash informed that as per orders issued by the government of India, the wards of West Pak refugees will now be eligible for recruitment without producing the domicile certificate. Now they have to produce a copy of the Electoral Roll showing the name of the candidate in the voters list for elections to the Parliamentary constituency and a certificate issued by the Sarpanch/Numberdar of their village to the effect that the person belonged to the WPR category.
He also said that Centre as well as the State Government are committed to ensure that the WPR's get the benefits of which they have been deprived over the last six decades. He said the centre government has announced the OROP which was a long pending demand of our veterans.
Member Parliament Jugal Sharma said the Prime Minister is aware of the problems of the refugees and has assured to solve their problems.
President of the WPRAC, Labha Ram Gandhi thanked the MP and Ministers for taking up their issues with the Centre and State Governments and showing their concern to solve their problems.
Earlier, the Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Prakash Chander took a meeting to review the power scenario in Samba. He took a detailed review of the steps taken for augmentation of power supply and stressed upon the officers to take adequate steps for commissioning of power infrastructure and improvement
