JU a glory for blue-eyed; different eligibility for same post | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 6: The Jammu Youth Forum (JYF) today protested against the Jammu University (JU) authorities for openly indulging in act of nepotism and favoritism through bye-passing all the established norms for conduct of interview for the contractual post of Lecturer in Remote Sensing and GIS. Addressing a gathering here today, JYF president Mohd Akram Ahmed said, "JU authorities have decided to hold the interview for contractual appointment for the post of Lecturer in Remote Sensing and GIS on Monday i.e. 7th of September, 2015 which is a sheer act of corruption and nepotism as the eligibility norm for the said post is ambiguous and aimed at extending to a blue-eyed candidate." He added that the said post of lecturer (contractual) in Remote Sensing & GIS different eligibility criteria was set up by the administration through two separate notifications. He elaborated that earlier the interview was to be held on 18th August, 2015 but could not be held due to the fact that eligibility conditions were controversial and had created stir on the campus. "Due to sustained pressure from various quarters the JU authorities cancelled the interview for said post but now they have fixed the date on 7th of September which clearly indicates that the Vice Chancellor himself wants to extend undue favour to a blue-eyed", he alleged. He further said the eligibility criteria were deliberately tailored by the in-charge Deputy Registrar and programme coordinator Remote Sensing and GIS. "In-charge Deputy Registrar Teaching Wing and Programme Coordinator Remote Sensing and GIS have manipulated the eligibility for unknown reasons," he added. The JYF flayed the Chancellor (Governor) and Pro-Chancellor (Chief Minister) for turning a blind eye towards this nepotism mess in the University. |
