Tax on Vaishnodevi pilgrims irks Kishore 9/7/2015 12:42:28 AM Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 6: The PDP-BJP coalition government's decision on the imposition of 12.5pc services tax on the air tickets of Vaishno Devi pilgrims was highly opposed by MLC and CLP leader, Jugal Kishore Sharma . He mentioned that Shrine Board is a constitutional body which should be independent of the direct interference of the government. He highlighted the biased attitude of the government which has levied no tax on the tourist activities such as the Gondola services in Gulmarg where as the pilgrims suffer. The government has shown cold shoulder towards the poor, aged and the physically handicapped pilgrims . He suggested that the government could have implemented the tourist tax on the cable cars in Gulmarg.
