NMC demands release of 6 percent DA installment | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 11: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) has appealed to Chief Minister to immediately issue orders for release of 6 percent DA installment due from July last in favor of the employees of State Government and pensioners in cash well before ensuing festival season as the same installment of 6 percent DA has also been released by the Centre as well as Bihar Government to their employees and pensioners recently. Addressing a series of NMC activists meetings at Canal, Gandhi Nagar and Janipur today, its president Subash Shastri reiterated that provision for such expenditure already exists in current year budget estimates and the government should take early decision in this regard at the earliest. "Delay in such matter is also not in interest of the state exchequer but also increase the difficulties of employees and pensioners, adding that DA is the part of salary and routine financial matter and as such there should be no hitch in releasing it. Stressing on the need for early creations of separate heads in all concerned departments and budgetary allocation made separately so that till their regularizations, the daily rated workers are able to get their monthly wages regularly and in time. Shastri expressed grave concern over inordinate delay in merger of 50 percent DA into basic pay/pension which forms part of the recommendations of the 4th pay commission implemented since January 1986. Shastri demanded for early amendment in SRO 64, beside enhancement in the wages of daily wagers to Rs ten thousand per month, removal of all pay anomalies of clerical cadre in SRO-93 and release of all pending due of daily rated workers working in various departments of the state government. |
