As Centre ignores mainstream parties, separatists gain ground in Kashmir | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 11: Though Government claims that there is no immediate threat from ISIS in Kashmir, the ground situation in the Valley is deteriorating day by day and more and more youth are joining the militant ranks. According to sources the members of Muslim community in Kashmir are perturbed over the happenings and failure of the Government to check the growing militancy in the State which suddenly surfaced during last over six months. Sources said local youth on the behest of separatists and other anti national elements are hoisting ISIS and Pakistani flags in the Valley just to create an impression among the masses that the so called separatist movement has not died down but it is alive. Unfortunately there is no concrete policy on the part of the Government both at Central and State level to tackle it both on political as well as administrative level, sources added. Sources said that separatists and anti national elements on the behest of Pakistan and pro Islamic forces all over the globe are luring these youth to wave of ISIS and Pakistani flags so that the common masses may get impression that the so called separatist movement is alive in the Valley. Sources said that if this trend is not checked and forceful action taken against the forces behind this entire game, the situation can turn from bad to worse in near future. Sources said that the members of civil society and some mainstream people in Valley are perturbed over the happenings in Valley and failure of Government to contain the situation. Some prominent political and social activists from Valley where expressing concern over the situation said that there are reports that some educated youth are lured to join the militant ranks by the forces inimical to national interests and unity and integrity of the country. This is a dangerous trend and the situation will deteriorate in case the pre-emptive measures were not taken by the Government, sources said, adding the increasing cease fire violations and pushing of armed desperados from across the border is a part of this conspiracy. Sources said the anti national outfits and the over ground and underground militant organizations have increased their network to the extent that they succeeded in motivating the surrendered militants after their rehabilitation in police force by the Government to join militancy again. Such a trend is fraught with dangerous consequences and the people who are propagating against terrorism and working for restoration of peace in the State feel isolated, Sources said with mainstream political parties in Valley hell bent to outwit each other the separatists are gaining ground and taking its full advantage. Besides, the failure of Government to encourage the nationalist and secular forces in Valley is also adding to the advantage of separatists, sources added. Sources said some small political groups and organizations which also contested last year's Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in the Valley have been completely ignored and neglected by the Government and they feel totally suppressed. Some groups among them are staunch nationalist and secular to the core whose services could have been utilized in restoration of peace and strengthening the nationalist forces in Valley but this has not been done for unknown reasons. Sources said though it is high time for the GoI to strengthen these forces for the large national interests to marginalize the separatists and anti national elements but certain vested interests within administration are creating hurdles in this regard. The GoI should go into the depth of the matter and seek a complete feedback on the role of these elements who can prove useful for the nation and State in asking on separatists and strengthening nationalist forces in Kashmir. |
