Students hold protest demonstration | | | Early Times Report Rajouri, Sept 11: Students from village Jamola and its adjoining areas held a protest demonstration before the DC office alleging shortage of passenger vehicles on Rajouri-Kotranka-Budhal road. In the protest students claimed that due to shortage of passenger vehicles they always missed their classes at colleges and schools. "Students faced difficulties due to the non-availability of adequate passenger vehicles on this route especially girl students would reach home late in the evenings" said Monika and Haq Nawaz. According to students, from last many months' residents of the area facing shortage of passenger vehicles on this route and the matter has been raised several times before the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) and private vehicle operator union leaders but nothing has been done to increase the frequency of passenger vehicles on this road. Later deputation of students met DC Shabir Ahmed Bhat in his chamber and apprised him about the problems being faced by the students especially during the examinations. In the meeting DC assured students that to mitigate their problems the necessary steps would be taken immediately. |
