PDP holds workers' convention at Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Sept 11: A Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) workers' convention was held here today at Goverdhan Palace wherein a large number of party activists as well as senior leaders participated.
Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti were also present on the occasion
A deputation of Peoples Democratic Trade Union (PDTU) under the chairmanship of Vipin Dubey (District general secretary PDTU Udhampur) met with the Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed and submitted a charter of demands which include increase of medical allowance of government employees and pensioners from existing Rs 300 to Rs 2000, computerization of G.P fund accounts and made them available on official website, merger of 50% DA in the basic pay of all government employees, promotion of SPOs of Jammu region and adjust them in the J&K police as permanent employees, construction of sarai for labour class at Udhampur beside other demands.
The chief Minister gave a patience hearing to the deputation and assures for early redressal of the demands in phased manner.
