CEO holds political parties meet 9/14/2015 10:06:11 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 14: Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu, Shantmanu today convened a meeting of representatives of all recognized political parties in connection with special summary revision of electoral roll. Deputy Chief Electoral Officer, Rishpal Singh, was also present in the meeting. As per the schedule for special summary revision of photo electoral roll in Jammu and Kashmir announced by the Election Commission of India, the draft publication of the photo electoral rolls shall be made on September 15 in all polling stations while the final publication is scheduled to be held onJanuary 11 next year. Besides, the guidelines of the Commission states that one set of photo electoral roll shall be provided free of cost to all the recognized political parties at national and state level. The CEO asked the participants to identify and appoint a Booth Level Agent (BLA) for each polling booth who would be associated with the special campaign dates alongwith BLOs. The CEO sought cooperation from all the political parties to make the campaign a success. He said that the election department is exercising to register all the eligible voters who have attained the age of 18 years or above as on January 1, 2016. He also informed the participants regarding the availability of form 6, 7, 8 and 8A free of cost with all BLOs/AEROs/EROs/DEOs. These forms can also be downloaded from the official website of CEO, J&K (ceojk.nic.in) and Election Commission of India website (eci.nic.in). Shantmanu assured the participants that their suggestions for achieving 100% registration and purification of roll shall be taken into considered.
