Three bullet riddled bodies recovered from orchard in Pattan area | | | S Tahir-ul Haq Early Times Report BARAMULLA, Sept 14: Bodies of three youths with bullet injuries were found dumped in an apple orchard in Pattan area of this North Kashmir district today in the morning, triggering protests in the area. The slain youth were aged between 17 and 22 years. Sources told Early Times that locals today spotted three bodies of teenagers in orchards of village Shuru Dangerpora on Nehalpora-Wailo road in Pattan area and they immediately informed the concerned police station Pattan. The local police immediately reached to the spot and recovered the three bullet ridden bodies from the spot. The news about the death of three youths spread like a wildfire in the district. Following this clashes broke out between protestors and security forces in Sopore and Baramulla towns with the protestors blocking the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad highway at Pattan and Palhallan. Protestors also forced the shopkeepers to shut the markets in Sopore and Baramulla. Abdul Rashid Reshi, uncle of one of the deceased identified the body of his nephew at District Hospital Baramulla, where the post mortem of the trio was conducted under heavy deployment of Police. "We had lodged missing report with police station Bumai two months ago, however nothing was done to trace him," said Rashid adding that his nephew was a student of ninth class. A senior police official said that two of the bodies found in Dangerpora Pattan have been identified as Ashiq Ahmad Wani son of Mohammad Ramzan Wani resident of Lolipora Pattan, adding that he was an active militant of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) who had joined the outfit in June 2014. The official said that another youth was identified as Amir Ahmad Reshi son of Ghulam Qadir Reshi resident of Imberzalwari Hardshiva had gone missing from July 15, 2015. He had also joined the militant ranks in the same period. Late in the night the third body recovered by the police was that of Naveed Khan of Batapora Sopore. Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Baramulla, Syed Masood said, "Post mortem of three bullet riddled bodies was carried out here. There were four bullet marks on each of the bodies among which two were identified as Amir and Ashiq of Baramulla district, adding that after autopsy they were sent to their native places for last rites." Meanwhile, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, North Kashmir range, Garib Dass told Early Times that the three dead bodies were recovered from Soch village of Dangerpora area in an orchard. He said while identity of two slain has been established process is going on to identify the third youth. "It is a very sensitive issue, so police is thoroughly investigating from all angles. Whether they are normal civilians or they were working for some agencies or part of some militant organizations is not yet known," said the DIG. |
