Health Minister clips wings of Director Health | | | Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 14: Minister for Health and Medical Education has reportedly taken charge of the thriving industry within his department in his own hands, curtailing the powers of Director Health Services. A document is in possession of Early Times revaled that Minister for Health and Medical Education has curtailed the power of Director Health Service of Jammu by issuing an order No. PS/HM/ARI-Trgs/1188 dated 18-8-2015, in which Minister directed Director Health Service Jammu that he shall deal with all such proposals which were required to be sent to Secretariat where modernization/up-gradation of hospitals/projects of NABARD etc. was involved. All matters relating to Gazetted officers including service matter/adjustments of Gazetted officers be made with the approval of the competent authority (Minister Incharge). On September 1, Director Health Services Jammu had transfered 80 to 90 pharmacists including some senior pharmacists but intervening in the matter, the Minister had issued another order dated 4-9-2015 to DHS Jammu to rescind the order of senior pharmacists. Reliable sources revealed that following some contradiction between Health Minister and Director, the Minister has taken powers to transfer doctors in his own hands to appoint his close aids at plum postings. "Earlier the Government had withdrawn powers to make purchases from Jammu and Kashmir Medical Corporation Limited, now the Minister has snatched power of transfers and paralyzed the post of DHS Jammu, Sources alleged . If officials in Health and Medical Education are to be believed, the Minister had transferred the doctors and posted in different areas but number of doctors have been successful in getting their orders modified to get postings of their choice. |
