Following RTI plea, Div Com asks DCs to ensure PIOs with DGPCs | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 14: Following the plea from RTI activist Balwinder Singh, the Divisional Commissioner Jammu has asked all the Deputy Commissioners (DCs) to ensure that the District Gurudwara Parbandhak Committees (DGPCs) in their respective districts to have PIOs and allotted two weeks time for the execution of the work. RTI activist Balwinder Singh has filed a petition to the Divisional Commissioner Jammu seeking direction in this regard. Balwinder filed his case before Divisional Commissioner who happens to be the first Appellate Authority after he did not receive the reply to the queries he filed before the DGPC. In his plea, the RTI activist Balwinder filed an RTI application before the PIO DGPC on 28/02/2015, but he couldn't get any reply from the PIO and then he filled first appeal before the First Appellatte Authority, the Divisional Commissioner Jammu on 15/05/2015, as he was made chairman of the DGPC by the direction of the High Court of J&K. In his RTI plea the RTI activist has sought information from the DGPC including the date of the two last elections held for electing members of SGPC Jammu & Kashmir, name of all the members elected during the last two elections of the SGPC along with their designations, detail of the commercial/residential property under the control of SGPC Jammu, procedure adopted to rent out the said premises in each case and etc. |
