| Floral tributes offered to martyr ASI: Sohal Lal | | |  Early Times Report
Rajouri, Sept 14: Floral tributes were paid to the martyr Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of Border Security Force (BSF) today during a wreath laying ceremony held at Rajouri.
ASI-BSF Sohan Lal sacrificed his life for the integrity of the country on Sunday while manning a forward post on the Line of Control (LoC) in Tarkundi sector in Ghambhir area in Rajouri district.
"One of the shells fell near the forward post where the deceased ASI was posted resulting in fatal injuries and later succumbed to his fatal injuries before his evacuation to nearby Army Medical Centre.
A wreath laying ceremony was held at BSF sector Headquarters at Rajouri which was attended by GOC, Infantry Division, DIG, BSF Sector (HQs), Shabir Ahmed Bhat ,Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Dr Haseeb Mughal, SSP Rajouri besides large number of BSF, Army ,Police and civil officers.
Deceased ASI, Sohan Lal a resident of Rajsathan was employed with 163 Bn BSF and was deputed on the second line behind army to protect the borders and to restrict the entries of Anti-National elements who are making desperate attempts from this sector to enter the Indian soil. The body of the deceased ASI was later sent to Rajsathan to be handed over to his family members for his last rites. |
