DC Jammu reviews Navratra, Dussehra arrangements | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 28: Deputy Commissioner, Jammu Simrandeep Singh today convened a meeting to review the arrangements for ensuing Dussehra and Navratra festivals. While taking a review of the arrangements for Chhadi yatras and Shobha yatras to be taken out during the festivals, Deputy Commissioner directed the officers of the PHE and PWD department to ensure barricading inside MA stadium, besides making adequate logistic arrangements in time for the convenience of the devotees. The Jammu Municipal Corporation has been directed to ensure sanitation and cleanliness in and around MA stadium, Parade ground and yatra routes. Two mobile toilets would be stationed at MA stadium and Parade ground from October 12. The officers of PDD were instructed to complete the repair works before the beginning of festive season for ensuring uninterrupted power supply in Jammu. The Deputy Commissioner asked SSP Traffic to put in place an effective traffic management plan to ensure hassle-free movement of religious processions in and around the city. He also discussed arrangements enroute for the smooth conduct of the procession particularly traffic regulation and security. The Tourism Department was directed to repair defunct lights in Raghunath temple before the start of Dussehra celebrations. The meeting was attended by SP City North S K Chouhan, District Health Officer, Jammu Dr. Sanjay Turki, Joint Director Tourism, Jammu Namrita Sharma, Deputy Director Fire and Emergency Services A K Wangnoo, Deputy Director CA&PD (Supplies) Atam Dev Singh , Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) Mohammad Abdullah, AEE PDD Vivek Sharma and other officers of the concerned departments. |
