DB grants time to respondents in PIL effective prosecution wing 9/28/2015 11:07:07 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 28: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by Rufi Khan & Ors, seeking effective prosecution of criminal trials particularly involving capital sentence and life imprisonment to prevent crime, a Division Bench (DB) of State High Court comprising Justice Hasnain Massodi and Justice BS Walia granted time to file status report indicating the guidelines for appointment of Public Prosecutor and Additional Public Prosecutors today when the matter came-up for hearing Adv Gagan Basotra appearing for the state submitted that recommendations are still awaited, upon this Division Bench granted time to file status report indicating the guidelines for appointment of Public Prosecutor and Additional Public Prosecutors. The Division Bench also had observed that pursuant to earlier order respondents were directed to file comprehensive report indicating guidelines (whereby the earlier Division Bench directed state to file status report indicating the guidelines for appointment of Public Prosecutor and Additional Public Prosecutors), if any, for appointment of Public Prosecutors and Additional Public Prosecutors and also status of the recommendations made by the Committee headed by the Advocate General.
