Expanding road network being prioritized: Zulfkar | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Sept 28: Underlining the importance of roads for the overall development of the State having geographical diversity and difficult terrains, Minister for CA&PD and Tribal Affairs, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali said that the present dispensation has put prime focus on upgradation and construction of roads with special attention on providing connectivity to cut off and neglected areas. The Minister said this after inaugurating Kotedhara-Gakhrote road constructed under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) at an estimated cost of Rs 3.51 lakhs. Addressing the gathering at Kotedhara, the Minister said that the funds for the construction of roads and bridges are already released and have been put at the disposal of concerned officers so as to accelerate the pace of developmental works, adding that ensuring development on ground is the priority of the government. While responding to the demands projected by the people for installation of water pumps and augmenting power supply, the Minister asked officers of PDD and PHE to adopt pragmatic approach and take feedback from people of respective areas while framing work plan so that the desired development can be attained. Highlighting the importance of Aadhar card, he said that the file and documentation work to prove identity to avail benefits of welfare schemes will be reduced with possession of Aadhar card. |
