GDC Thanamandi celebrates NSS day 9/29/2015 12:04:54 AM Early Times Report Rajouri, Sept 28: GDC Thanamandi today celebrated NSS day with great pump and show at College premises. MLA Rajouri Qammar Hussain was the chief guest on the occasion while SDPO Thanamandi, Ifthkar Talib was the guest of honour. Principal of the college Dr. BB Sharma presided over the function. A cultural programme was presented by NSS volunteers to mark the NSS day which was highly appreciated by the audience. SDPO Thanamandi while speaking on the occasion, recalled his college days when he himself was NSS volunteer and advised the students to join NSS in great numbers so as to learn how to serve the society. He lauded the efforts of NSS unit of College for organising such programmes. The chef Guest MLA Rajouri Qammar Hussain congratulated the college administration in general and NSS unit in particular for organising such programmes which is need of hour. He advised the students to work hard and follow the motto of NSS "Not Me But You". While speaking on the occasion, Principal of College Dr. BB Sharma gave a resume of the activities of the college. Prof. A.R. Qadri also spoke on the occasions. Two students of the college Flourance Chaand and Hafiz Imtaiz were presented momentoes by the chief guest for securing positions in the BA Part 3rd examination last year. In his welcome address Prof. Saleem Ayaz Rather Programme officer NSS gave resume of NSS activities to be carried out during the current Session. Earlier college newsletter Shandara was released by the chief guest in the presence of Galaxy of audience. A smart class room of the college was also inaugurated by chief guest. The programme was started with the recitation of few verses of Holy Quran by Mr. Khalid student of college.
