Nepotism, favouritism give rise to anarchy in Bishnah tehsil office | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 2: Alleged nepotism and favouritism have given rise to anarchy in the Bishnah tehsil office, affecting the work culture. Official sources said after the posting of a senior officer in the tehsil office some time back, he also got his four close relatives, all patwaris, transferred to the tehsil office and posted them in the patwar halqas having proximity with Kunjwani and Sarore. In both the patwar halqas, which are quite big in area, the land rates are very high. Sources said the four patwaris "harass the people who approach them for the issuance of Fard and other revenue documents. Though there is a fixed rate for Fard, these patwaris were charging exorbitant rates only because a senior officer in the tehsil office was their close relative". Though the people had lodged complaint against them with the authorities concerned, no action was taken against them, the sources added, saying they had also brought the matter to the notice of the deputy commissioner during his recent visit to Bishnah tehsil. The Bishnah people have called upon the higher authorities to immediately transfer the senior officer and his four relatives from the tehsil office and post the officials of integrity in their place. |
