Has J&K BJP president read agenda of alliance? | Ignorance always dangerous | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 2: J&K State BJP president and Lok Sabha MP, Jugal Kishore Sharma, has defended the BJP alliance with the PDP and asserted that the coalition government has been working well. Besides, he commended the PDP-BJP agenda of alliance and declared that the agenda of alliance formed the basis for the formation of the PDP-BJP government and that both the parties were committed to follow it and implement it. He aired these views while interacting with BJP workers from Udhampur at the party headquarters, Jammu. One can understand why BJP leaders like Ram Madhav and the BJP ministers like the Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh commend the alliance and its agenda, which the people here in Jammu describe as an agenda of subversion, agenda of capitulation, agenda of abdication, a new charter of bondage for the people of Jammu province, another rivet in the chain of Jammu's slavery and also as a dangerous document that doesn't suit the national imperatives in the militant and terrorist-infested J&K. But one fails to understand why other BJP leaders from Jammu province hail the agenda of alliance and say day-in-and-day-out that they appreciate the agenda of alliance and are committed to implementing it. Has the state BJP president read the agenda of alliance or has he understood the implications of the agenda of alliance for the people of Jammu province, people of Ladakh region, refugees from Pakistan, displaced communities like the Kashmiri Hindus, the minorities like minorities like the Sikh community, Scheduled Castes, scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, the J&K State as a whole and for the country? It appears Sharma, like almost all in the state BJP, has not read the agenda of alliance. Or, if at all, he has gone through it, he has not understood what it contemplates or vouches for. It vouches for everything that the people of Jammu province all through opposed tooth and nail. In fact, the agenda of alliance is the negation of all that the people of Jammu province fought for and made supreme sacrifices for. Sharma and others in the BJP would do well to go through the agenda of alliance before they express their views on it. He would do well to organize a debate on the implications of the agenda of alliance so that he and others in the party are able to form a definite opinion on it. A discussion on the agenda of alliance among the BJP leaders and workers from Jammu province has become absolutely necessary. |
