Auto operators to go on strike from Oct 5 | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 2: Jammu Auto Operators' Union (JAOU) has decided to go on 72 hours strike from October 5 against the alleged harassment by the police in a meeting held under the chairmanship of president of union Kuljit Kumar. As per press release, Kuljit Kumar said due to the police harassment while plying autos on the various routes have decided to go on the strike from Monday for 72 hours. Speaking on the occasion Kuljit Singh said that rates fixed by the traffic police Rs 17 per KM is not agreed by us and it should be at least Rs 30 per KM. He further said that in Delhi where the CNG Auto's are plying on the routes in Delhi and outskirts are charging Rs 27 per KM while as the Jammu auto drivers are running their auto on petrol which costs much costlier. |
