BJP leaders conspiring to settle score with Pawan Gupta for writing letter to Drabu | Tax on pilgrims | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 6 : State president of BJP has made up its mind to settle score with Minister of State (MoS) Finance Pawan Gupta for writing a hard-hitting letter to Finance Minister, Dr Haseeb Drabu for imposing tax on pilgrims of Mata Vaishno Devi. Instead of appreciating Pawan Gupta for the his bold stand against unilateral but discriminatory decision of Cabinet colleague, the power hungry BJP leadership of State is all out to avail this opportunity to settle old score with the MoS. Ironically none of the BJP leader or minister except Pawan Gupta has guts to take direct confrontation with Finance Minister for imposing tax on pilgrims. Credible sources said that BJP leaders of the state unit are arguing that by writing a letter to Finance Minister, Pawan Gupta has been indulged into indiscipline so action should be taken against him. State president of BJP, Jugal Kishore Sharma is in the fore-front to seek action against Pawan Gupta because it was Sharma who was mainly responsible for denying party mandate of Pawan Gupta from Udhampur assembly seat. By winning Udhampur seat as Independent candidate, that too during strong Modi Wave, Pawan Gupta had proved that decision to deny him ticket was wrong. There is allegation that ticket was denied by Jugal Kishore Sharma to Pawan Gupta due some other considerations in his (Jugal's) mind. After victory of Pawan Gupta, Jugal Kishore was exposed so he is looking for an opportunity to hit back Gupta who inflicted state BJP president an insult. On October 2, Jugal Kishore Sharma chaired a meeting of Udhampur District of BJP in which he had made it a point that Pawan Gupta should not be called in the meeting. Organizers of the meeting had not given invitation to Pawan Gupta despite he is MLA of Udhampur. The meeting, which was convened by District President & MLA Dina Nath Bhagat, had the presence of local senior leaders, district office bearers, Mandal teams and prominent party activists drawn from different areas of Udhampur district. |
