Three and half months on, GAD fails to forward 1059 posts of Lecturers to JKPSC | | | Akshay Azad Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 6: In virtual display of administrative inertia, which has paralyzed the functioning of various Government departments, the General Administrative Department (GAD) has failed to forward 1059 posts of Plus Two lecturers to the recruitment agency, after the lapse of more than three and half months, since posts were forwarded to it. Sources informed Early Times that the Jammu and Kashmir School Education department had forwarded a total of 1059 posts of Plus 2 lecturers to General Administrative Department (GAD) on June 10, 2015 for forwarding the same to Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission for recruitment (JKPSC) to start the recruitment process. "But for the last three and half months, there is no movement on the file pertaining to posts and it is learnt that file is biting dust on the tables of GAD babus", sources said. A senior official of School Education department informed that as per standard procedure, all departments have to forward the posts to GAD, which further forwards the Gazetted cadre posts to JKPSC and Non-gazetteed posts to Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB) for recruitment. On being asked, a senior official of Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC), said that no post was forwarded to them and all those posts which were forwarded to them were already on display on official website. The official of School Education department said, the advertisement of Plus 2 lecturers posts would face further delay, as the recruitment rules are yet to be amended. "Few meetings of the committee, constituted for the purpose have so far been held and final decision in this regard is yet to be taken", he said, adding that if posts were forwarded to JKPSC, the recruitment process would have been intensified but indifference on part of GAD might delay the process. Hundreds of highly qualified youth of state have been waiting for the posts to be advertised. "Already the posts of Assistant Professors for Degree colleges are entangled into court cases and we are waiting for the last more than three years now. We had high hopes on School Education department but there is no word from Government, which is very distressing", Imran Yatoo said. |
