JKBWA seeks development of Batwal Community | | | Early Times Reports JAMMU, Oct 13: The Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association today sent a memorandum to the Governor, Jammu and Kashmir in which the former MLA & Association President Sat Paul Lakhotra highlighted that during the past sixty eight years, the Union as well as the State Government have taken care of all the communities but the poorest Batwal community has been ignored and lagging behind in all fields. He said that the community has not been given any representation in the Government though other communities rotationally availed this opportunity. Lamenting that the Batwal community has no effective say in the State only due to non-representation, Lakhotra alleged that all the communities have been provided land by the Govt. in the vicinity of Jammu for the construction of community halls but the Batwal Community has not been given even an inch of land for the purpose adding further that the educated youth of the community are making futile attempts and hankering after the job without any political backup. He appealed the Governor to direct the State Govt. to redress genuine grievances of the Batwal community slated in the memorandum so that Batwal Community could also lead a dignified life like others in the society. |
