| MLA Pahalgam faces embarrassing moments | | Gets avoided by PDP President, R&B Minister during official function | |  Jehangir Rashid

SRINAGAR, Oct 13: National Conference's legislator from Pahalgam Altaf Ahmad Wani faced some embarrassing moments during a function in South Kashmir after Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President and MP Mehbooba Mufti and R & B Minister Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari avoided him and did not listen to his repeated pleas.
Altaf who has been criticizing the State Government like anything could be seen pleading for having a talk with Mehbooba, but the later turned down the request not once but more than that. He also tried his best to put across his point to the R&B Minister who too was unmoved and left the scene as soon as the function was over.
Eye-witnesses told Early Times that as soon as function of the inauguration of smart classroom at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Ranibagh in Anantnag was over, the MLA Pahalgam could be virtually pleading with PDP President to listen to his point of view. However, Mehbooba did not pay any heed to the plea of Altaf and went ahead.
It would be in place to mention here that the smart classrooms were inaugurated by Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed with the MLA Pahalgam also being invited to the function.
"Once the inauguration was over the MLA Pahalgam could be seen virtually following the PDP President and he requested her to stop for a while so that he could put forward his point. On this the PDP President said that the time is not opportune and since she is in a hurry she would not be able to listen to his (Altaf's) point of view," said eye-witnesses.
The eye-witnesses said that Altaf despite being told categorically by the PDP President did not learn any lesson and still continued with his request. However, since there was no response from Mehbooba he was left red faced and faced an embarrassing situation. He could be seen somewhat perplexed over the entire scene.
In the meantime, the MLA Pahalgam could be seen running towards the R & B Minister who was leaving the venue of the function. He virtually pleaded with Bukhari to come down from his vehicle and listen to his point of view, but here too he had to face embarrassment. The R & B Minister did not deem it fit to come down from his vehicle.
Altaf literally pleaded with Bukhari regarding development of some roads in his constituency. The R & B Minister took the issue lightly and could be seen laughing at the plan of action pursued by the MLA Pahalgam. Altaf made a fun of himself and the people present at the function could be seen laughing at him.
Pertinently in the recent autumn session of the assembly the MLA Pahalgam along with MLA Homeshalibugh Abdul Majeed Bhat (Larmi) were suspended after they created ruckus in the house. The suspension was later on revoked due to the intervention of the chief minister. |
