MPEJ urges Education minister to redressal problems of private schools | | | Early Times Reports JAMMU, Oct 13: Movement for Peace, Equality & Justice has appealed Education Minister to pay heed to the grievances of private schools, which are allegedly being treated step motherly. According to press release, the MPEJ members submitted a memorandum in which they apprised him about the difficulties faced by the Private Schools in terms of grant of recognition to Private School and other related matters were highlighted in the month of Marh,2015. The education authorities instead of redressing the grievances of the Private schools have put them to further harassment by charging Rs. 2000 as the inspection fee in connection with issuance of building safety certificate and Rs. 400 for obtaining fire safety certificate from the concerned departments that too for 1 or 2 years only. In addition to these charges, an amount of Rs. 7000 is being charged by the State BOSE, authorities after every two years period towards the inspection fee for grant of Affiliation/Recognition of private Schools, which otherwise should not have been less than 5 years period. The financial burden so put on the private schools is not at all affordable so far as the school with meagre monthly income is concerned. |
