| DB allows to perform 'Dusshera' at play ground | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 13: In a much publicized PIL in which Division Bench restrained state to not use the play grounds for other playfield other than a sports activity, a Division Bench (DB) of State High Court Comprising Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey and Justice BS Walia allowed applicants to use the play ground Gandhi Nagar for two days for celebrating the Dusshera Festival only. After hearing Adv Vikram Sharma and AAG Rakesh Khajuria and Ehsan Mirza, the Division Bench allowed the applications and permitted the applicants to use the playfield Gandhi Nagar for two days viz. 21st and 22nd October, 2015, for celebrating the Dusshera Festival only. However, the permission as regards installing stalls for the sale of crackers during Diwali in the playfield in question cannot be allowed in view of specific directions having been passed by this Court earlier in WPPIL no. 20/2014 on 11th November, 2014, in this regard.
