Day 2: PYC's Yuva Akrosh Yatra reaches Jammu, receives rousing response

Jammu, Oct 13: After covering the district Kathua and Samba, "Yuva Akraosh Yatra" a mass movement organized by Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC) against the new recruitment policy of the BJP-PDP government and unsettled issues of thousands of daily wagers, NYCs and other educated unemployed youth, today reached at Jammu where a large number youth joined the on foot march in different parts of the city.
The Yatra led by Dr Uma Shanker Pandey National secretary, Pranav Shagotra President J&K PYC, Satish Sharma, Paramjit singh, Rajvir Manhas General Secretaries PYC, Charanjeet Singh, LYC President, Jammu-Poonch from the Congress Bhavan Sheedhi Chowk marched through main markets of winte capital and later culminated at Sheedhi Chowk.
Sham Lal Sharma Former Minster and Sr Vice President and Vikram Malhotra General Secreatry JKPCC addressed the youth activists of the Party. They lauded the role played by youth congress in highlighting the issues of youth of the State.
Earlier addressing the Yatra gathring, Dr Uma Shanker Pandey National secretary, said that it is in the DNA of the Hindu Mahasaba, RSS and BJP to ditch the people after showing green pastures.
"The BJP exploited the sentiment of the youth for vote bank politics and then forgot to give them anything in return including the employment, he said and added, "instead giving more employment, this government has discontinued the daily wagers and NYCs."
"We demand permanent employment for these sections and also urge the government to scrap the new recruitment policy, he added.
Addressing the PYC ralliests, Pranav Shagotra President J&K PYC, condemned the negligent and callous attitude of the government in addressing the issue of NYCs, which also has resulted in the death of a NYC activist (Raj Kumar) and many others are in critical condition at the venue of hunger strike at Partab Park, Srinagar. He demanded proper compensation to the family of the NYC activist who died during the current hunger strike at Srinagar.
