Sources again said that all the pending works at Katra got cleared with the coming of Navratras. Sources added that the roads, lightings, government departments which were not maintained even from a long time undergone maintainence and looks like new ones.
Locals said that every year holy town undergo maintenance at Navratras only but the rest of the year shows the pathetic condition of the town. "Even the road from Nomain to Katra is enough to state the condition of the maintenance at Katra as from the past many years it is eroded and is now getting renovation, but the same is difficult to be completed in these Navratras", he added. Moreover, "the hoteliers feel quite happy with the start of Navratras as it is expected to gain some profit with the increase in the yatra", said a hotelier. He added that the hoteliers are suffering a loss with the start of new trains to Katra as the Yatries who used to stay at Katra now prefer to return back to their states even on the same day mostly with the availability of Trains.
An official from PWD office when contacted shared that the work is almost complete and only one km stretch is left but the same will be completed within days.
