Protest of JP workers of Baglihar project enters 8th day | | | Early Times Report Ramban, Nov 18 : The protest demonstration of hundreds of retrenched workers and engineers at Baglihar project entered 8th day today. The protesting workers of M/S Jai Prakash associates are demanding the the final compensation according to the agreement made already between the workers and JP management in 2008. The protesting workers staged a dharna in project premises at Powerhouse and shouted slogans against the company management. Union leaders of the workers said that company management retrenched the workers with out any notice and send more than one hundred engineers on force leave which is injustice with them.They further alleged that company management locked the rooms of retrenched workers and closed the mess and hospital of the company.Union leader Javeed Ahmed zargar said that company management had given all the benefits to the retrenched workers up to 2014 according to the agreement. He said that when the project is completed now the JP management retrenched the workers without any final compensation which is not acceptable to them. The protesting workers started a Langer at project side and prepared the food. |
