Geelani, Shah, Malik vindicate ET report | Skip Mirwaiz `unity meet' | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Nov 18: Vindicating an Early Times report, Geelani, Shabir Ahmad Shah and Yasin Malik on Wednesday skipped Mirvaiz Umar Farooq's much hyped 'unity meet'. Insiders told ET that Mirwaiz Umar Farooq who was aware of this development allegedly managed to put himself under house detention. "In the executive meet held on Monday it was decided that all constituents of Hurriyat-M will attend the meeting at Mirwaiz Manzil Srinagar. "Mirviaz had assured that he will attend the meeting but it surprised us when we were informed that he (Mirwaiz) has been detained at his residence," an activist who attended the meeting today at Mirwaiz Manzil said. Sources said that parties led by Geelani, Shabir Ahmad Shah, Yasin Malik and others abstained and thus spoiled Mirwiaz's game plan. They said that by conveying this meeting Umar Farooq wanted to score a political point and appease his masters sitting across the border. "Mirwaiz has again received a setback. Even lesser known separatists affiliated with his Hurriyat have stopped obeying his dikats. He lost ground in separatist politics and his maters sitting across are backstabbing him too," an insider privy to major developments in separatist camp said. "It seems Mirvaiz managed house detention to escape from facing the people who represent cross sections of society," he revealed. Sources said that many others who attended the meeting were scheduled to quiz Mirvaiz about the donations which he collected after September-2014 floods in the name of flood rehabilitation but on finding him absent, those with trade didn't ranked up the issue but kept insisting on forging unity. Pertinently, on November 16, Early Times had published a detailed report and revealed that no senior separatist will attend Mirwaiz's 'joint meeting'.
