2 months on, sugar missing from CAPD depots | | | MOHD IRFAN
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 18: Two months on, sugar is missing from CAPD depots. Notwithstanding the assurance of the concerned minister, the consumers returned dry even on the occasion of Diwali. Sources informed Early Times that Government gives subsidy of Rs 80 cr but the CAPD department utterly fails to yield positive results after negotiations with the millers who are tasked to provide sugar. CAPD gets sugar at the Rs 39.50 and sell it at Rs 13.50 per kg. The failure of the CAPD has subjected the people to inconvenience and have been purchasing it from the open market at high rates. Taking a dig over the CAPD for its functioning, a consumer Shagufta kouser said, "this government is playing with the aspiration of the masses, rather takes them for a ride." Repeated attempts to contact Director CAPD went in vain. |
